Drill 5 of 5
Safe Entry Against Counterpuncher
Learn how to fight counterpunchers without rushing.
How to practice
- Identify the partner's two favorite counters during a slow scouting round.
- Enter behind a high guard with your chin down, hands home, and your exit step already planned.
- Use the step-off entry: come in at a 45-degree angle so their favorite counter fires at air.
- Punch once or twice, then exit behind your shoulder - never admire your work in range.
- Finish live rounds where you lose a point for every counter you eat on entry.
