Drill 5 of 5
Southpaw Angle Drill
Practice angles against southpaw.
How to practice
- Step outside the southpaw's lead foot and pivot to their blind side - the rear-shoulder side.
- From the angle, throw the hook or rear uppercut before they can turn to face you.
- Reset, let them square back up, and angle again - never fight them from the front.
- Partner turns to face you quickly so your angle and punch must come as one motion.
- Finish with a round where you score only from the blind-side angle.
