Feint, Draw the Teep, Enter
Control the distance kicker's rhythm by making them fire the teep on your terms and entering as it retracts.
How to practice
- Feint forward with your hands or a level change to make the partner throw their teep at a fake.
- Step just outside the teep's range so it falls short, staying balanced enough to re-enter.
- The instant their foot touches the floor, step in with a full combination - jab-cross-hook minimum.
- Drill the full trigger sequence 15 times: feint, draw, enter, combination, angle out.
- Have the partner mix real teeps with feints so you must time the entry on the actual kick.
- Finish with one sparring round where your entries must always follow a drawn teep.
Coaching cues
The feint must be believable - hips and shoulders sell itEnter the moment the foot drops, not when they are balanced againBring a combination, not a single shotVary the feint - level change, shoulder fake, or step - so they cannot read it
Common mistakes
- Flopping a lazy feint that draws nothing
- Entering while the foot is still in the air and getting pushed off
- Landing one punch and exiting, letting them reset the distance for free
