Drill 3 of 5
Jab to Chest Against Southpaw
Make the jab safer in open stance.
How to practice
- 'Jab' the southpaw's chest with your lead hand instead of their head - it jams their right jab at the source.
- Use the chest jab to hold their lead shoulder square while you step off their power line.
- Build the sequence: chest jab, step outside the lead foot, rear cross.
- Partner tries to jab through your chest frame so your frame hand learns to stay active, not parked.
- Finish with one round where your jab may only target the chest and shoulder, never the head.
