Drill 2 of 5
Lead Foot Position Drill
Practice outside foot control.
How to practice
- Face a southpaw partner. Step your lead foot outside theirs and hold it there.
- Keep the battle going: as they step to reclaim the outside, beat them back with a small step.
- Add the payoff - once your foot is outside, the rear cross is open; land it and reset.
- Partner actively fights for the outside foot so your steps must be timed, not just placed.
- Finish with rounds where the only score is a rear cross landed from the outside foot position.
